God gave me a revelation of a stiff elbow He wanted to heal in a Sunday service in January 1995 while in my first pastorate. Out came a lady in tears who confirmed the revelation was right but added that the stiff hand was much shorter than the other and she displayed it in front of everyone who was wondering what I will do. Then I remembered my Pastor many years ago showing us a video of Charles and Frances Hunter ministering to the sick and growing out arms and legs. I suddenly felt like acting out the same and I dared to do so. To my amazement, the hand grew out as I excitedly almost jumped out of my skin. I wonder till this day what would have happened if I did not dare to pray for her.
In 2 Kings 7, four lepers were facing imminent death due to famine. They discussed among themselves and resolved to dare invade the camp of the Syrians who had held their country hostage. God amplified their little effort and made it sound like the invasion of a mighty army. By the time they got to the camp of the enemy, they had all fled for their lives. The question is, what if they did not dare? Those who do not dare to obey God will never know what God has in store for them. Faith requires daring to do the will of God in the midst of opposition and contrary circumstances.
As the disciples started their journey to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, they didn’t expect to face the fierce storm they met on the way. As they despaired for life, they saw a wonder they had never seen. It was the Master walking on the water. As they all were overwhelmed with bewilderment, Simon Peter asked the Master to instruct him to come. He stepped out of the boat and began to walk on water. He is the only person in human history who has ever walked on water. What if he did not dare? He obtained that testimony because he dared to walk on water. When he began to sink due to fear of the wind, he looked back to the Master and floated again. Audacious faith always makes the difference.
‘Go like Abraham went,’ the Lord said to me when I asked for His permission to plant a new church in British Columbia, Canada.
I am grateful to God for the things I have dared to do. Without a dare, many miracles would never have happened. I went to a place I was never familiar with. God arranged for me to follow the navigation of my phone to the back of a mall where I ate dinner at the food court daily. As I walked slowly from the back of the mall which was a long distance, I suddenly ran into a former member of our church in Nigeria. He and his family became the seed family for our church plant that exists there today.
God speaks to His children but out of fear, they do not step out in obedience of faith. The late Dr Reinhard Bonnke sat almost across from me at his School of Evangelism. ‘How can I live in greater miracles like you do sir?’ I asked. ‘Victor, it is faith. Christ had accomplished all healings and miracles in His finished work on the cross. We just trust Him to heal great and small sicknesses and He will do them.’ As my ears heard those words, I made up my mind to increase ‘my dare’. I have seen greater miracles since then. My friend, the world of miracles is simply awaiting your ‘dare’.
