Before God told man what to do, He first revealed what man was made to be.

In Genesis 1:26, God said:

“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion.”

Before there was an assignment, there was an identity. Before God gave man something to accomplish, He revealed something about what man carried.

Man was created in the image and likeness of God and entrusted with dominion over the earth. We were not created merely to exist. We were created to influence, to cultivate, to govern, and to cause the earth to reflect something of the nature and order of the One who created us.

CREATED TO REIGN

God’s original design was not simply for one king to rule over many subjects. His intention was for the earth to be filled with people who carried His image and exercised dominion within the spheres He entrusted to them.

This was not a call to chaos or independent rule. Dominion was never about doing whatever we pleased. It was about representing God’s government faithfully on the earth.

Every human being was created with the capacity to influence, to create, to cultivate, to solve problems, to lead, and to shape the world around them.

Influence and responsibility were not additions to humanity. They were part of God’s original design.

God wanted the earth to reflect His nature and order, and He chose humanity as the vessel through which that influence would be expressed.

You were not created merely to occupy space on the earth. You were created to make an impact on it.

WHEN THE DESIGN WAS INTERRUPTED

Then sin entered the picture.

Genesis 3 records the fall of man and the tragic consequences that followed. Humanity came short of the glory of God, and the dominion entrusted to man was compromised.

The glory that enabled man to live in alignment with God’s nature and purpose was lost. Sin affected humanity’s relationship with God, distorted our nature, and brought disorder into the world God had created.

Jesus referred to Satan as “the prince of this world” (John 14:30), while Paul described him as “the god of this world” who blinds the minds of those who do not believe (2 Corinthians 4:3–4).

Scripture therefore presents a real spiritual conflict behind much of the darkness we see in the world. Sin, evil, oppression, destruction, and the works of the enemy have all contributed to a world that does not fully reflect God’s original intention.

That is why the world we see today does not always look like the world God designed.

But the story did not end in the garden.

CHRIST CAME TO RESTORE WHAT WAS LOST

God did not abandon His original purpose for humanity.

Through Jesus Christ, He began the work of restoring what sin had disrupted and establishing His Kingdom in the earth.

And the Kingdom of God does not operate according to the values of the world’s system.

Romans 14:17 says:

“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

Where the world produces disorder, the Kingdom brings God’s order. Where there is oppression, the Kingdom brings freedom. Where there is fear, the Kingdom brings peace. Where darkness prevails, the light of Christ shines.

Jesus did not establish His Kingdom by raising a physical army or taking political power by force. He filled ordinary people with the Holy Spirit and sent them into the world as witnesses.

The pattern is powerful: one transformed life influencing another, one heart reaching another, one family experiencing the reality of God, one community being changed by people who carry the life of Christ.

This is how the influence of the Kingdom spreads.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU CARRY?

This is why you must understand what you carry.

You are not simply a believer trying to survive in this world until you get to heaven. You are a carrier of the influence of another Kingdom.

The presence of God in you is not only for your personal benefit. It is also for the world around you.

Your home should feel the influence of the Kingdom.

Your workplace should experience the influence of the Kingdom.

Your business, your relationships, your leadership, your creativity, and every sphere God has entrusted to you should become places where His character, wisdom, righteousness, peace, and love are expressed.

This does not mean that we become the source. God remains the source. We are vessels through which His life and influence are expressed.

The question, therefore, is not simply, “What can I achieve?”

A more important question is:

“What has God placed within me, and what am I doing with it?”

There is something you carry.

There is an influence God has entrusted to you.

There is a sphere in which your life is meant to make a difference.

THE TAKEOVER GENERATION

This is the takeover generation.

Not a generation that takes over through force, intimidation, or the pursuit of earthly power, but a generation that carries the reality of God’s Kingdom wherever it goes.

We take over by letting Christ take over us first.

When His character shapes our character, His wisdom shapes our decisions, His love shapes our relationships, and His truth shapes the way we live, the environment around us begins to change.

This is how the Kingdom advances.

It starts with one person.

Then another.

One home.

One workplace.

One community.

One city.

Until the influence of the Kingdom continues to spread.

God has not changed His mind about what He created you to be.

You were created intentionally, in His image, and entrusted with influence.

So do not live as though you have nothing to offer. Do not spend your life merely existing, surviving, or waiting for someone else to make a difference.

Know what you carry. Know who you are. Know the Kingdom you represent.

And wherever God has placed you, let His reality be seen through your life.

The earth still needs people who will carry the image of God, exercise godly influence, and faithfully represent the King.

You were created to reign. Now learn to live like one who carries the Kingdom.
